Ingredients  

  • 2 turkey thighs
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cold water
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ ripe pear peeled, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tbsp garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger chopped
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds toasted
  • 1 tbsp green onion chopped

Instructions

  • Combine the sesame oil, soya sauce, water, sugar, pear, garlic and ginger and blend until smooth.
  • Remove the skin and bones from the turkey thighs and cut each thigh into 4 pieces. Mix the turkey with the marinade and refrigerate for 30 minutes or longer.
  • Heat a barbecue grill or large sauté pan to medium high and sear turkey on both sides until very dark and charred in some spots.
  • Adjust heat to low and continue cooking until turkey is cooked. A meat thermometer will read 170°F (77°C) when the meat is fully cooked.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
