Butterball “Secret Menu” Burger

Ingredients  

  • 6 turkey burgers Butterball
  • 6 burger buns
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes sliced
  • ¼ cup pickled jalapenos sliced
  • ¼ cup yellow mustard

Carmelized Onions

  • 3 onions diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter

Secret Sauce

  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  • Begin by carmelizing your onions.
  • In a hot skillet, add the olive oil and butter, followed by the diced onions.
  • Season with a pinch of salt, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  • Cook slowly for 45 minutes, or until the onions are nicely carmelized. Set aside. (Can be done the day before).
  • Make your secret sauce by combining the ketchup, relish, mayo, garlic powder and salt. Set aside.
  • Spread yellow mustard on one side of each Butterball Turkey Burger.
  • Heat your greased grill or cast-iron pan over medium heat, then add the burgers mustard side down.
  • Cook for 7 – 9 minutes, then flip.
  • Top each burger with a slice of cheese, carmelized onions and sliced pickled jalapenos.
  • Cook for another 7 – 9 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 325°F (165°C).
  • Toast each side of your bun, then spread on some of the signature sauce.
  • Add lettuce, tomato and Butterball Turkey Burger that has been topped with the cheese, onions and jalapenos.
