Ingredients  

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tsp zaatar seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper  
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp sumac
  • 4 pita breads
  • 2 cups romaine shredded
  • 1 small onion finely sliced

Yogurt Garlic Sauce

  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • lemon zest 1 lemon
  • ½ lemon juice 1/2 lemon
  • 2 tbsp water or as needed to thin out

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients, do not overmix.
  • Form into quenelles or meatballs (about 1 Tbsp each)
  • Place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, turning halfway.
  • Serve in warmed pita and top with shredded romaine lettuce and drizzle with yogurt garlic sauce.
  • Top with a sprinkle of Za’atar, Sumac, sea salt and drizzle of olive oil.
