Ingredients
- 250 g puff pastry defrosted
- 1 cup sharp Canadian cheddar cheese grated
- 6 slices smoked deli turkey meat
- 1 egg beaten
Optional
- 5 tbsp pesto or sundried tomato spread
Optional to serve
- ketchup for dipping
- fresh herbs such as parsley, thyme
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F

On a well-floured surface, roll out the puff pastry dough to about 9″ by 12″ in diameter.

If you are using pesto or sundried tomato spread, spread it evenly across the surface of the puff pastry. If you are not using these spreads, skip this step.

Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the pastry.

Layer on the sliced deli turkey meat.

Tightly roll up the puff pastry lengthwise.

Use a sharp knife to cut into about 10-12 portions.

Place the wheels on a parchment-lined baking tray, and let them chill in the fridge for 10-20 minutes to set slightly.

Brush the tops of the puff pastry with lightly beaten egg and bake for 17-20 minutes, until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and garnish with herbs if desired.
Tips & Tricks
For a more “grown-up version”, fill the pinwheels with ingredients like pesto or sundried tomatoes.
