THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR STORIES AND SUBMITTING YOUR NOMINATIONS FOR THE WISHBONE AWARDS. COME BACK ON DECEMBER 5th TO DISCOVER THE WISHBONE AWARD RECIPIENTS AND THEIR STORIES!

Wishbone Award Submissions are now closed!

To kick-off the Holiday season, Think Turkey is putting the spotlight on unsung holiday heroes with the launch of the Wishbone Awards.

With Food Banks Canada reporting that nearly 20% of Canadians are living with food insecurity, Think Turkey’s Wishbone Awards will recognize and support community heroes who help put holiday meals on the table for those in need.

Whether it’s donating turkeys, cooking in a community kitchen, or volunteering at a local food bank, there are kind people across the country who believe every Canadian deserves to have a holiday meal.

Earlier this month, Canadians were invited to nominate a holiday hero or share how they’re fighting food insecurity during the holidays.

On December 5, Think Turkey will reveal the Wishbone Award recipients! Eight Canadians will be recognized and receive a $2,500 grant towards their holiday community efforts. When Canadians pull together, we can make holiday wishes come true!

The Wishbone Awards are part of The Wishbone Project, a program launched in 2020 by Canada’s turkey farmers and processors to give back to communities and help those in need at the local, provincial and national levels through foods and funds. Since its launch, The Wishbone Project has raised $240,000, empowering local non-profits, charities and community heroes to fight food insecurity.
