Preheat barbecue to medium-high heat (375°F | 190°C).
In a deep roasting pan cover wings with water until the wings are 3/4 covered.
Loosely cover pan with foil and cook over indirect heat for 1 hour.
Remove wings from barbecue and pour off excess juice from wings and discard.
Mix wings with all other ingredients in a large cast iron pan.
Cook over direct heat for approximately 45-60 minutes, stirring and turning wings occasionally. The wings are fully cooked when a thermometer probe reads 170°F (77°C).
